EDUCATE THROUGH FRIENDSHIP

A message from the President.

I am honoured to be your National President for 2012/13.  I would like to thank all the clubs for their support and best wishes and in particular my own club SI Tralee & District.  I am following in the footsteps of Alice King who was the last National President from SI Tralee & District in 1982/83.

My theme for the year is Educate through Friendship

The aim of Education is to attain knowledge, with knowledge we can help ourselves.  Education is the key to success.

Without Education we can’t go far. Education is also a part of our Federation Project the 3 E’s Educate, Empower, Enable.

I became a Soroptimist in 2004, and when I went to my first National Association Meeting in 2005, the first thing that struck me was how friendly everyone was.  I have found this to be the case at every Soroptimist event that I have attended since then.  It is my hope that friends would want their friends to get on and as Soroptimists we would want our fellow women and girls to achieve their potential.  This ties in with our Mission Statement ‘Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.’

It is my aim to visit as many clubs as I can during the coming year and I look forward to meeting you when I visit your club, or at the National Association meetings.  Some of you I will know, but if it is your first National Association meeting, please come and introduce yourself to me.

In friendship,

President Anne
